MIMI's African Beauty is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as that term is used in South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). There are only two ways this website collects anything about you.

If you send a message. The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and what style you’re after. We use it to reply to you and to arrange an appointment, and for nothing else. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.

If you allow performance cookies. Then we count visits and see which pages get used, so we know what to improve. That measurement is aggregated and is not used to work out who you are. It is off until you allow it — see the table below.

We do not ask for, and this site has no way to take, payment details. There is no account to create and no password to set.

You choose what to allow the first time you visit, and you can change your mind at any time. Open your cookie choices.

We keep this list short on purpose. The site’s fonts and every photograph are served from our own domain, so simply reading a page does not hand you to anyone else.

• Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host it processes your IP address and browser details in order to serve pages and to block abuse.
• Google Analytics measures site usage, and only if you allow performance cookies. Where we send events from our own server rather than your browser, they carry your country and a shortened browser description — not your IP address.
• Our email provider delivers messages sent through the contact form to us, and a confirmation back to you.
• WhatsApp, if you use the WhatsApp button. That conversation happens inside WhatsApp under its own terms, not on this site.

Some of these providers are outside South Africa, so your information may be processed abroad. We only use providers that commit to protecting it to a standard comparable to POPIA.

• Enquiries and the emails around them: while we are dealing with your enquiry, and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we have your history if you come back.
• Cookies: for the periods in the table above.
• Analytics: as aggregated reports. Individual events are not kept longer than 14 months.

Ask us to delete your enquiry sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Under POPIA you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it is wrong, or complete it if it is missing something;
• delete it, where we have no obligation to keep it;
• stop using it for a particular purpose;
• object to us using it at all.

Email mimihairstyle@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. We may need to check who you are first, so that we are not handing your information to someone else. Visitors in the UK or the EU have equivalent rights, and the same address reaches us.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator, which supervises POPIA.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
